EuroTank Pt VIII

Friday, 11.09.2007
Frederiksborg Slot, Denmark

friday's forecast was a total mess. we haven't seen more than an hours worth of direct sunlight since we've been on the continent, and friday, it pretty much poured on and off all day. since there was going to be no enjoying any outdoor aitivities, and we were all rested up, we headed to hillerød palace with inger & gert. it's a beautiful castle around which a regular neighborhood has grown up around.

it's not a gothic castle, but a palace in which royals of denmark lived at one time. it's beautiful, and very very detailed. not all of it is preserved exactly as it would have been when lived in. in fact on one of the floors, there was a twentieth century photography exibit. it was a good exibit, if somewhat out of place.

after returning from hillerød, we joined sona, stephan & co. for dinner at annette's apartment. shes got a great apartment that she shares with a friend named catherine. catherine is great. very funny and creative. she's also apparently a musical whizz, and can play pretty much anything you give her... including a kazoo, which of course is my personal favorite.

we ordered thai for dinner and enjoyed a long cozy evening hiding from the biting cold outside. i think villads still hates bennett, but they finally managed to get along and play a little. it was a great night, the latest of our trip (we were out till 11:30), and we had a great time with annette.
